Last time, AMD saw it’s server CPU market share peak in 2006 with the success of its 64-bit Opteron processors. In 2006, AMD’s server CPU market shared raised to 22% from 5-7% in just 18 months period. However, AMD’s rival Intel repulsed quickly and regained technology leadership, which forced the steady decline of AMD’s server CPU segment market share in the next 10 years.
